Holy Snowballs, I’m in!

I got in to the Arctic Circle Residency! I never thought I would, but here we are. Offer letter signed and planning madness overtaking my brain. I get to spend two weeks on a scientific expedition sailing vessel in the arctic ocean and I’ve never been so simultaneously excited and terrified in my life. I feel kinda like these dudes:

But you know me, and those who don’t, I’ve already gone full Demarest on this adventure: I have a spreadsheet with 10 tabs spanning everything from terrain and weather research, to what I can offer companies in return for sponsorship. And yes, the list of organizations to approach for sponsorship or grants is already… just a moment, need to count… 86 long and only going to get longer. It’s as if my whole life of volunteer and fundraising work was leading up to this singular moment and I’m in my element.
